A  more recent study published in 2013 in the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology, had instead taken into account concerns focused on whether some water-borne pathogens or disinfection methods could increase the risk of birth defects in children. swimming pool water.

From the data they had collected, the authors of the study had not found the existence of associations between the use of the swimming pool and birth defects, and had therefore confirmed the previous reassuring beliefs about physical activity in the water of the swimming pools.
